For most of my life UConn had been a power. 4 National Championships from 1999-2014, almost automatic 20-win seasons in that time period. A fixture in the NCAA tournament for 3 decades. They’d collect McDonald’s All-Americans, produce NBA players, and really for a long period of time they were a heavyweight in college hoops.
As the Big East has changed, so has UConn, who is currently in a dogfight with 12-seed New Mexico St.. The fallout from the Kevin Ollie situation can only partially be blamed, but college basketball needs UConn to be relevant again.
